What’s the deal with carbs and sugar?

Lots of people ask me about the relationship between carbs and cleansing. Carbs are a hot topic in the health world, and its fair to be concerned. Let me answer some of those questions for you.

Concerned about carbs on your juice cleanse? Don’t be. Here’s why.

Know that natural foods are recognizable by the body and can be easily broken down whereas unnatural substances cannot be broken down and will actually contribute to slowing down the metabolism, degeneration of your organs , weight gain and premature aging.

If it has refined sugar or flour, heated oils or chemicals or preservatives in it it is hardest to digest.

So the number of calories, protein grams, fat grams, and carb grams are not the information you need to make informed choices about what to put in your body.

Instead when you think about putting something into your body, you need to ask yourself this important question:

Is this food in its natural state and is this source recognizable?

For example, if I ask the average person what’s the better food choice – a Power Bar or an avocado – people often point out that the Power Bar has 200 calories and 2 grams of fat, and the avocado has 400 calories and 14 grams of fat. Therefore the Power Bar is the healthiest choice.

Right? Wrong.

The body regards these 2 items very differently.

The Power Bar is sugar and chemicals and hard to break down causing you to store waste and gain weight but the avocado is recognizable and the body says “oh, I know what to do with you, I can break you down completely!!”

So there you go.

The most healthful foods for the body are quick exit foods that are the easiest to digest and packed with nutrients.  Foods that can also pass through the body leaving the least amount of residue that can be turned into waste matter such as beautiful hydrating local and organic fresh fruits and veggies!!!
